Highland Hills Medical Center in Senatobia, MS, seeks a CT Technologist Supervisor. This is a full-time position for day shifts with hourly wages.
Job Summary: Manages the staff on a daily basis, helps support the administration team with policy implementation. Performs a variety of imaging procedures, including CAT procedures, and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in CQI activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Staff Supervision and Leadership
- Supervise radiologic technologists and support staff.
- Create work schedules and manage shift coverage.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure staff compliance with protocols and continuing education.
2. Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations of imaging services (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, etc.).
- Monitor workflow to ensure efficiency and minimize patient wait times.
- Maintain equipment functionality and coordinate with vendors for repairs or upgrades.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety practices and protocols.
3. Quality Assurance
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures for imaging equipment.
- Ensure high-quality diagnostic images are produced consistently.
- Conduct regular audits and participate in accreditation processes (e.g., ACR, DNV).
- Address and resolve any discrepancies in imaging studies or procedures.
4. Regulatory Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, FDA).
- Maintain records related to radiation exposure, equipment inspections, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate radiation safety training for staff.
5. Patient Care and Communication
- Ensure patients are treated with care, respect, and professionalism.
- Oversee patient scheduling, preparation, and education about procedures.
- Address patient complaints or concerns related to imaging services.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns, and extraneous radiation to patients.
Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure — makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
Shall at all times work under the direction of the medical director.
Takes X-ray, CAT, UIS, and Angio calls according to monthly schedule after the closing of the regular department hours.
Completes all work before clocking out ad leaving. This includes checking with nurses' stations.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
Performs all quality control checks, as prescribed.
Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination, documents and deviation.
Interacts professionally with patient/family.
Understands and practices proper use of all equipment; never operates equipment inconsistent with manufacturer's instruction.
Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population.
Must be acquainted with local fire and safety regulations.
Has knowledge of hospital policies and the functions of the other departments.
Regulatory Requirements:
- Associate degree is required.
- One year of radiologic/imaging experience.
- Prefer specific experience and training in CAT.
- Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Current MS State Medical Radiation License and\or ARRT certification.
- Current BLS certification.
- Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
- Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Additional languages preferred.
Skills:
- Basic computer knowledge.
